Managing the Resourcing Layout

Switch between People, Projects or Time off, and set up different advanced viewing options in Resourcing.

Updated over a week ago

In Resourcing, you have the flexibility to switch between three different layouts or perspectives (People, Projects, and Time off) to tailor your perspective and make resource management a breeze.

Besides that, you have access to Advanced options to help you configure the Resourcing layout and use features such as fields, filters, and the search bar for smoother navigation.

1) Changing between perspectives

Use the Resourcing dropdown menu to switch between Person, Project, and Time Off.

This allows for better resource allocation and planning as you can shift your focus to projects, people, and booking time off in just a click.

2) Customizing what you see

Fields

In Resourcing, Fields help you organize and categorize information, by including or excluding information visible in your view, such as the person's availability, capacity, and the ratio between the two, for example.

Select fields and save the new view to your list of Resourcing views.

Sorting options

The Sort function allows you to arrange information based on added fields either in ascending or descending order for better organization and clarity.

Filters

Filters allow you to narrow down the displayed information based on specific criteria, such as viewing bookings for a particular project, team member, or date range.

Similar to adjusting fields, after adjusting the filters, save the view for easier access later.

Search bar

The Search bar allows you to quickly find specific team members when in the People perspective or projects when in the Projects perspective.

Zoom in and out

The Zoom in and Zoom out functionality helps you adjust the level of detail displayed in the interface, allowing you to focus on specific time frames or view broader overviews of resource allocations.

Next and Previous Week

The "Previous week" and "Next week" arrows in Resourcing allow for navigation in 7-day increments. To return to the current week in a click, choose "This week."

3) Advanced options

Explore additional functionalities by navigating to the rightmost cog (⚙️) icon.

Here, you'll find advanced options such as:

  • Stack bookings: Helps you manage overlapping bookings making the bookings overview more compact.

  • Show Project colors and logos: By displaying project colors and logos, it's easier to distinguish between projects.

  • Show all holidays: Stay informed about holidays from all calendars within the organization to help you better plan and organize your team's time.

  • Show Capacity indicators (Heatmaps): Visualize team capacity with heatmaps, where red indicates overbooked resources and green signifies a balanced workload. Toggle between default and compact views for optimal visualization.

  • Show hours: View the total hours booked for a single person across projects.

  • Manage placeholders: Coordinate project and resource management by handling placeholders.

Transparent bookings in Resourcing

When certain filters are applied to your view in Resourcing, bookings falling outside the filtered criteria will will appear transparent.

For instance, if a filter is set to show only internal projects, bookings related to client projects and time-off will appear faded, while those associated with internal projects will remain highlighted.
