Filters in the Resource Planner help you narrow down the displayed information based on specific criteria, such as bookings for a particular budget, person, or date range.
Previously, bookings that didn’t match the filters would still appear as transparent in the view to provide additional context. This behavior has now been updated.
Show Only Filtered Bookings Toggle
When this toggle is enabled, only bookings that match the applied filters will be shown. Others will be hidden from the screen completely.
This is now the default behavior. The Planner always behaves as if this toggle is enabled.
When the toggle is disabled, the filters work as follows:
1) Resource Planner > By Person
Filtering by the Person Group: If you filter by the People group, those users not covered by the filter will not be displayed.
Example: You use the Person: Teams filter and select the Design Team. Developers won’t be shown, even if they have bookings during the same period.
Filtering by Other Groups: If you filter by any other group (e.g., Budget/Deal: Owner), the bookings not covered by the filter still appear, but transparent.
Example: You filter by Budget Owner = “Me”. You’ll see your team’s bookings in full color, but transparent bookings from other budgets remain in view, showing you that people are still working on something else.
2) In the Resource Planner > By Project
Filtering by the Project, Budget/Deal Group: If you filter by the Project, Budget, or Deal group, those projects not covered by the filter will not be displayed.
Example: You filter for Project: Name = “Website Redesign.” The “Mobile App” project won’t show at all.
Filtering by Other Groups: If you filter by any other group (e.g., Person: Worplace), the bookings not covered by the filter will still appear, but transparent.
Example: You filter by Person: Workplace = “London”. Projects with London-based team members are shown in full color, but transparent bookings reveal that other team members (e.g., New York staff) are still working on those same projects.
3) In the Resource Planner > By Budget/Deal
Filtering by the Budget/Deal, and Project Group: If you filter by the Budget/Deal pr Project group, those budgets and deals not covered by the filter will not be displayed.
Example: You filter by Budget/Deal: Name = “Client X Retainer.” Deals for Client Y or Client Z are completely hidden.
Filtering by Other Groups: If you filter by any other group (e.g., Person: Workplace), the bookings not covered by the filter will still appear, but transparent.
Example: You filter by Person: Workplace = “Berlin.” The Berlin team’s bookings are full color, but you still see transparent bookings for the same budgets assigned to colleagues in other offices.
4) In the Resource Planner > By Absence
Filtering by Booking: Absence Category Status, Booking: Absence Category, or Booking: Absence Type: If you use these filters, those categories not covered by the filter will not be displayed.
Example: You filter by Booking: Absence Type = “Time off”. Remote work won’t be shown at all.
Filtering by Other Groups: If you filter by any other group (e.g., Person: Workplace), the bookings not covered by the filter will appear transparent.
Example: You filter by Person: Workplace = “Madrid.” Bookings for Madrid employees’ vacations appear in full color, but absences from other offices are visible in transparent form letting you see that those colleagues are also away, just outside your filter.
