Are you or any of your team encountering issues while trying to track time against a specific sales deal and its services?
If you find that your service isn't available and is not showing where you expect it to appear, there could be several reasons behind it.
We'll explore each potential issue below.
If you are looking to track time or log expenses against a service in a budget, and cannot find it, take a look at this article for possible reasons and solutions.
1) User Not Added to Deal's Sharing Options
Ensure the user trying to track time is added to the deal. Access the sharing options in the upper-right corner.
β
2) Missing Cost Rate for the User
Check that the user has a defined cost rate for the relevant date.
Update this in Settings > Users or through Resourcing > Employees, ensuring the cost rate covers the necessary date range.
β
3) Deal Lacks Services
Make sure services have been added to the deal. Time cannot be tracked without services assigned.
β
4) Deal Stage Has Tracking Options Disabled
Some pipeline stages may have time tracking and expense logging disabled. Verify the deal stage settings.
5) Time Tracking Restricted to Assigned Services
Check whether time and expense tracking has been restricted to specific service types or people assigned within the deal.
6) Disabled Time Tracking Against Services
If time tracking for individual services is disabled in the deal, enable it by clicking the Edit icon and toggling the option to allow time tracking.
Tip: Ensure that time tracking and expense logging haven't been disabled in the deal pipeline stage settings, as these settings override individual deal settings.
