What is the Champions Feature?

The Champions feature in Productive is a powerful tool designed to ensure that every organization has clearly identified power users or "champions" for specific areas within the platform.

These champions are the go-to people for any questions, updates, or issues related to their designated area.

This feature is crucial for maintaining a well-organized structure within your organization, especially when certain key users are deactivated or leave the company.

Importance of Champions

  • Internal Communication: Champions act as the main point of contact within your organization for their specific areas, ensuring that any internal issues or updates are promptly addressed.

  • External Communication: Productive can communicate directly with champions about feature updates, feedback, and new tools to enhance the organization’s use of the platform.

  • Continuity and Transition: If a champion is deactivated or leaves the organization, a successor must be nominated to ensure continuity in management and communication.

How Does it Work?

1) Setting Up Champions

  • Navigate to Settings > Champions in Productive.

  • Assign champions for specific domains within the organization, such as project management, invoicing, HR, and sales.

  • For smaller organizations, a single user can be assigned as a champion across multiple or all areas, ensuring that the organizational structure remains simple and efficient.

2) Champions’ Roles

  • General Champion: Oversees the overall implementation and use of Productive.

  • Resourcing Champion: Responsible for resource management.

  • Invoicing Champion: Responsible for invoicing and payments.

  • HR Champion: Responsible for people and time-off management.

  • Project Management Champion: Responsible for budgeting and project management.

  • Sales Champion: Manages deals, contacts, and CRM features.

Key Takeaways

  • For smaller organizations, where one person might be a champion for multiple areas, you can apply the general champion across all functions.

  • In the case of deactivating a champion, you’ll be prompted to assign a new champion to maintain continuity.

  • Regularly review and update champion assignments to ensure the right individuals manage their respective areas, maintaining effective communication as your organization evolves.
