Adding Time Off in Resourcing

Manage your team's time off from Resourcing, including vacation, sick leave and add custom categories.

Updated over a week ago

In Resourcing, besides scheduling team members on projects, budgets, and deals, you can also manage their time off, whether it's for vacation, sick leave, or other custom reasons, which ensures accurate resource allocation and prevents double bookings.

Here's what you need to cover before booking people for time off in Resourcing:

1) Create time-off categories in Settings > Time off.

Pro tip: Check out this article on Capacity and Availability for more information on resource allocation as well as paid and unpaid time off.

Booking Time Off in Resourcing

To add time off in Resourcing first select your layout or perspective for easier navigation. You can choose between People and Time off from the dropdown, depending on your preference and needs.

Booking Time off from Resourcing > Time off

1) Select Time off from the dropdown menu, where you'll find all your time off categories listed.

2) Click on + Add a booking and select the person you want to add it for or drag your mouse over the desired period.

3) Confirm the dates, decide on the time allocation (days, half-days, hours), add any relevant notes, and click "Create booking" to finalize.

Note: in case the time-off booking needs to be approved by someone, the previously allocated time will reduce accordingly after the time off has been approved.

Booking Time off from Resourcing > People

1) Select People from the dropdown menu and locate the person you want to make the time-off booking for, either by scrolling or using the person filter.

2) Similar to scheduling them on a project, click on + Add booking or drag a line across the day/week.

3) Finally, and most importantly, instead of selecting a project, switch to the Time off tab in the popup.

4) Choose the time-off category (e.g., vacation, sick leave), specify the dates and time allocation (days, half-days, hours), add any necessary notes, and click "Create booking" to confirm.
