How to Move Tasks to Another Project

Learn how to easily transfer tasks from one project to another with these simple steps.

Updated over a week ago

If you need to move multiple tasks from one project to another, you can do so efficiently by following these steps:

Steps to Move Tasks

1) Select Tasks

  • Begin by selecting all the tasks you want to move to a different project.

  • Note: you need to be in either the List, Board, or Table task layout.

2) Access the Menu

  • A new menu will appear above your selection. This menu allows you to update task statuses, add tags, and perform other actions.

3) Initiate the Move

  • Click the three dots (more options) on the right side of this menu. From the dropdown, choose the Move option.

4) Choose Destination

  • Select the target project, the specific folder and the task list within that project where you want to move the tasks.

Important Considerations

Task Dependencies Will Be Lost

  • Any dependencies linked to the tasks will be unlinked during the move. Make sure to re-establish dependencies in the new project if needed.

Moving Subtasks

  • Subtasks cannot be moved independently from their parent task. To move a subtask, you must first convert it into a standalone task.

  • If you are moving a task containing subtasks, both the parent and the subtasks will be moved.
