Connecting Deals to Budgets

  • When you win a deal in Productive, you can create a budget directly from it. This will automatically copy over services, future bookings, expenses, and time entries if needed.

  • A briefcase icon will appear next to the budget name, indicating that the budget originated from a deal. Click the icon to access deal details or open the deal directly.

  • The budget's Feed tab will feature two sections: Sales (deal information) and Production (budget information), allowing you to easily switch between the two feeds. This setup enables you to check details or updates related to the deal or budget without needing to leave your current screen and navigate back to the deal.

  • Any deal settings, such as time approvals, tracking restrictions, or custom cost rates, will be transferred and become budget settings.

Managing the Origin Deal

  • Budget Sidebar: Scroll to the "Origin Deal" section to view or edit the link between the budget and the deal.

  • You can unlink or change the origin deal by selecting "Edit Origin Deal."

  • Note: Only deals from the same client can be linked to a budget.

Tracking Deals in Financials

  • In Financials > Budgets or within reports, add the "Origin deal" field or filter to your view. This lets you quickly see which deal preceded each budget.

Duplicating the Budget

Copying a budget to create a new one does not duplicate the link to the deal, keeping your budget tracking clear and organized.
