Updated over a week ago

Integrating your time-off categories with Google Calendar and Slack ensures seamless synchronization of your availability status across platforms.

This allows you to sync your availability based on time-off bookings in Productive directly to your Google Calendar or Slack, making your status visible to your team.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to setting up and enabling the Status sync feature in Productive.

Setting Up Status Sync for Time-Off Categories

When setting up or editing an existing time-off category in Productive, you can enable the Status sync toggle.

This allows you and your colleagues to sync the time-off status for this category to Google Calendar and Slack.

1) Navigate to Time-Off Category Settings

Go to the settings for the time-off category you want to sync by clicking on the existing category or creating a new one.

If you cannot access or don't see the Time off categories in Settings > Time off, notify your account admins.

2) Enable Status Sync Toggle

Find the Status sync toggle within the time-off category settings and enable it.

Enabling Status Sync in Integration Settings

After enabling the Status sync in the time-off category settings, ensure that this feature is also enabled in the individual integration settings for Slack or Google Calendar.

1) Go to App Marketplace

Navigate to Settings > App Marketplace.

2) Select Integration

Choose either Slack or Google Calendar integration (both syncs are possible).

3) Edit Integration Settings

Click on the Edit button for the selected integration.

Enabling Status Sync For Google Calendar

1) Enable the "Turn on status sync to create your time off events in Google Calendar" toggle.

2) Select the Google Calendar to sync the events to (handy if you have multiple calendars integrated).

3) Choose which time-off categories you want to sync (some, all, or none).

4) Click Save.

As a result, any approved time off in Productive will block out the selected days in your Google Calendar.
