Booking notifications ensure you're always in the loop regarding your assignments and schedule adjustments.

You'll receive notifications when a new booking is added for you or an existing one is modified in the Resource planner, when a booking is reassigned to you, or when your tentative booking gets confirmed.

Plus, rest assured, deleting a booking won't flood your inbox with unnecessary notifications.

Enabling Booking Notifications

Accessing Notification Settings

To receive booking notifications, start by navigating to your settings and scroll down to the bookings section within notifications.

Notification Preferences and Channels

Turn on notifications for events like getting a new booking assignment or having a booking modified.

In addition, select the way you want notifications to be delivered: via email, in-app, mobile, or all of the above.

What Triggers the Notifications?

Notifications are sent exclusively to booking assignees, meaning individuals assigned to specific bookings. They will receive notifications for events like new bookings, booking modifications, reassignments, confirmed bookings, and time-off bookings.

Notably, if assignees make changes themselves, no notifications are sent; this condition only applies to changes made by others.

Remember, deleting a booking will not trigger any notifications!

Confirmed Bookings

You will receive a notification when your tentative booking becomes confirmed. Adding new tentative bookings won't generate notifications to avoid unnecessary alerts.


Booking Assignments

A notification will be sent when a new booking is assigned to you or if someone moves a booking from another person to you, as well as when your booking has been modified.


Time-Off Bookings

Notifications will also be sent when new time-off bookings are made for you and when updates are made to your existing time-off bookings.

Tip: Productive waits for 60 seconds before sending an email notification.


If you are the one making bookings for the team, this delay gives you time to make any additional adjustments to the booking without potentially spamming your colleagues with multiple emails, so feel free to tweak as needed! 🚀

Booking Notification Examples

Email Notifications

When your booking gets modified or confirmed, or if someone adds a booking for you, you will receive an email with a summary of the booking's details, including notes, dates, client information, and time allocation.

In-App Notifications

You can view the booking notifications directly in the Productive app.

Clicking on the notification in your Productive inbox takes you to the Resource planner, where you can see and review the booking.

Mobile Notifications

Screen notifications will indicate who modified or added a new booking for you, along with the action taken. In-app notifications in mobile and web apps function the same way!
