Change the Owner of Your Account

Transfer the ownership of your account to someone else.

The owner of the Productive account has access to billing information, can see past invoices for the subscription, can change billing details, and can deactivate the organization and, therefore, the account completely.

When a new organization is set up in Productive, the person who creates it is automatically assigned as the owner. This ensures the creator has full administrative control to configure and manage organization settings.

📌 If you’re unsure about the current owner of an organization, you can navigate to the organization settings and check the "Owner" field.

If the current owner is leaving the organization, changing roles, or shifting responsibilities, it's important to transfer ownership to someone who will manage the account. To transfer ownership to a teammate, follow these steps:

  • Ensure the current owner is available to initiate the change, as only the current owner has the rights to transfer ownership.

  • Navigate to Settings > Owner.

  • From the dropdown menu, select the teammate you want to transfer ownership to. Note: Only admins will appear in this list.

  • Confirm your choice by selecting Transfer ownership.
