Managing TO-DOs in Tasks

Break down tasks into smaller segments using TO-DOs in Productive. Assign, reorder, and manage with ease.

Updated over a week ago

TO-DOs within tasks are a great way to break down work into smaller, manageable segments.

Each TO-DO can be assigned to a different person, making it easy to distribute responsibilities.

If a TO-DO becomes more complex, you can convert it into a separate task or a subtask.

Adding a TO-DO

  1. Add a TO-DO
Click on "Add to-dos" below the task description.

  2. Input the Details
Type in what needs to be done, or paste a list—each line will create a separate TO-DO item.

Assigning and Managing TO-DOs

  1. Assign to a Teammate

Click on the icon next to the TO-DO to assign it to a team member.

  2. Manage TO-DOs

Open the three-dot menu to the right to delete a TO-DO, or convert it into a task or subtask.

Organizing TO-DOs

  1. Reordering
Hover over the TO-DO, and a grey dotted area will appear to the left. Drag the TO-DO up or down to change its position.

  2. Completing

Click the checkbox to mark a TO-DO as complete. You can choose to either show or hide completed TO-DOs, based on your preference.

Additional Features

Multiline Support

TO-DOs can be multiline, with a character limit of 1,000 characters, giving you enough space to provide detailed instructions.
