Sometimes, deals don’t go our way, and it's important to mark them as lost in Productive. You can do this using the following methods.
How to Mark a Deal as Lost
1) Click the red "Lost" button within the deal.
2) Move the deal to the pre-defined "Lost" stage (set in your sales pipeline settings).
In the screenshots below, the "Lost" stage is in the "Lost" status, meaning that any deals moved to this stage are automatically marked as "Lost."
3) Lose the deal and enter lost reasons inline in the table layout under CRM > Deals.
Tip: Make sure to add the "Stage" field to the layout to be able to choose your lost stage here.
4) Drag and drop a deal into the Lost stage in the board layout under CRM > Deals, then select the lost reason.
5) Lose multiple deals at once by:
Checking the boxes next to the deal names (both in table and board layouts).
Selecting Stage from the toolbar at the top.
Switching them to the lost stage.
Note: When using bulk actions, the same Lost Reason will be applied to all selected deals.
Lost Reasons and Mandatory Fields
After marking a deal as lost, you'll need to select a reason from the dropdown menu and, if needed, enter a note with more details.
You can also choose to remove any future bookings made for the services in the deal in the Resource Planner by ticking the "Delete all future bookings" box.
Adding lost reasons can be mandatory, depending on your Lost stage settings.
Adjusting Lost Reasons
You can customize and add your lost reasons under Settings > Sales settings > Lost reasons.
Tip: Deal Lost Reasons—Overview and Editing
You can edit the lost reason at any time by opening the deal and clicking "Edit lost reason."
For a comprehensive overview of lost reasons over time, go to the Reports tab, click + Report (upper right), and check out the Deals lost by reason pre-made report.
