Large Resource Planner views can be hard to scan when rows are listed flat and alphabetically.
Use Group By and Sort By to organize rows by role, project, client, and other fields, on both the People and Project/Budget layouts.
Opening Group By and Sort By
Go to the Resourcing tab and open the Resource Planner.
Select a layout: By Person or By Budget/Deal.
Click Group By in the toolbar and choose a field.
Click Sort By to order rows within the view.
Group By Options in the People Layout
On the By Person layout, you can group by:
Subsidiary
Employee fields
Group By Options in the Project/Budget Layout
On the By Budget/Deal layout, you can group by:
Project
Client
Budget Owner
Type (internal/client)
Custom fields
đ The By Budget/Deal layout now opens grouped by Project by default, with budgets shown underneath each project.
Showing or Hiding Items Within a Group
Each group has a Group by budget/deal or Show people toggle that controls whether individual budgets and deals appear under a project group, or whether bookings are rolled up directly under the project.
Turn the toggle on to see individual budgets and deals within each project group.
Turn the toggle off to see bookings grouped directly by project, without the budget or deal level in between.
đ This toggle is on by default when you group by project.
Rows Without a Group
Budgets or deals that don't belong to a project appear together under a No project group.
People in Multiple Groups
If a person belongs to more than one group, they appear under each relevant group.
Collapsing and Expanding Groups
Click a group header to collapse or expand it. This is useful for focusing on one group at a time in a large view.
