To connect HiBob to Productive, you need an API service user in HiBob. A service user is a special HiBob user that only exists to give other apps, like Productive, access to HiBob data.
Step 1: Create the Service User
In HiBob, go to System Settings.
Open Integrations and click Manage in the Service Users box.
Click Create Service User.
Give it a name, such as "Productive Integration", and click Create.
Copy the service user’s ID and Token and keep them somewhere safe. You’ll enter them in Productive at the end, not yet.
Step 2: Give It Access
Go to System Settings > Account > Permission Groups.
Click Create New Permission Group and name it, for example "Productive Integration". Under Members, select only the service user you created.
In the new permission group, go to People’s Data. Under Time off > See who’s out today, tick See who’s out today. This one is required; the other permissions there are optional.
Click Save, then Apply Changes.
Step 3: Connect It in Productive
Back in Productive, go to Settings > App marketplace and open the HiBob App. Connect it, and enter the service user’s ID and Token in the window that opens.
Productive then brings in your HiBob time off categories as absence categories, and approved absences from HiBob. Absences are matched to people in Productive by email address.
