To successfully connect HiBob with Productive, an API Service User must be created in HiBob.
An API service user is a user type in Hibob whose sole purpose is to manage APIs in Hibob.
Creating a New Service User in Hibob
1) Access System Settings
2) Create a Service User
Click on Integrations and then select Manage within the Service Users box.
Choose Create Service User.
Assign a name to the Service User, such as “Productive Integration,” and click Create.
Once created, copy both the Service User ID and Token and save them securely (e.g., in Notes).
You’ll need these details to complete the integration in Productive later (do not copy them to Productive just yet).
3) Configure Permissions
Go to System Settings > Account > Permission Groups.
Click Create New Permission Group and name it (e.g., “Productive Integration”). In the Members section, select only the Service User you just created.
4) Set Up Access Permissions
In the new Permission Group screen, go to People’s Data.
Under Time off > See who’s out today, check the box labeled See who’s out today. This access is essential; other permissions in this section are optional.
Click Save and Apply Changes.
