Guide to enabling SSO using Rippling.

Updated this week

Single Sign-On (SSO) simplifies the login process by allowing users to access multiple applications with one set of credentials.

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to set up SSO with Rippling for your Productive account.

Tip: Before you begin your setup, open Rippling in one tab and Productive in the other as you'll be copying information from one page to the other.

Step 1: Access Your Rippling Account

  1. Log in to your Rippling account.

  2. Navigate to your installed Productive app.

  3. Select the Setups tab.

Step 2: Start the Setup Process

  1. Click on Setup now to begin the SSO configuration.

Step 3: Configure Rippling SSO

  1. On the setup screen, locate and copy the Identity Provider Single Sign-On URL and the Metadata URL.

  2. Navigate to your Productive account's Single Sign-On settings and paste these URLs into the corresponding fields.

Step 4: Configure Productive SSO

  1. From the same Productive settings screen, copy the Single Sign-On URL.

  2. Return to the Rippling SSO setup flow and paste the copied URL.

  3. Click on Move to Next Step.

Step 5: Complete the Rippling Setup

  1. Decide whether to allow Productive Rippling admins to sign into the Productive admin account and click Continue.

  2. Creating group attributes is not supported at the moment, so you can freely skip the step by clicking on Continue.

  3. Click on Continue one more time. Testing the connection is optional and not mandatory for the integration setup.

  4. Click on "Skip for now, visit the app" to finish the setup.

Step 6: Finalize in Productive

  1. Go back to your Productive settings.

  2. Click on Enable SSO to complete the setup.

Now your SSO integration between Rippling and Productive should be successfully enabled, allowing your users to access Productive using their Rippling credentials.

Note: Make sure you select the "Use single sign-on (SSO)" option when logging in.

Tips and Best Practices

  • Ensure that all URLs are correctly copied and pasted to avoid any configuration errors.

  • Test the SSO setup with a few users before rolling it out to the entire organization to ensure everything is functioning properly.

  • Keep your Rippling and Productive admin credentials handy in case you need to make adjustments or troubleshoot any issues.
