Project-less budgets

Create and manage budgets without projects.

If you have a case where you agreed on some job for a client or for an internal purpose where you donโ€™t need a project, you can now create that in Productive.

If at any point later you need a project for that budget, you can assign it.

๐Ÿ’ก This is a great method for tracking work breaks in Productive where you do not need a project. Or, if you have client work that needs to be tracked, but you do not need a project for that.

Create a project-less budget

To create a project-less budget, follow the usual steps when creating a new budget, but simply leave the project field empty. You will have to enter the client name, still:

In the Client profile, under the budgets tab, that budget will not have a project next to it:

Can I assign a project to a project-less budget?

Yes. To do so, open the budget sidebar and select a project you want the budget to be associated with:

Can I unlink the project from an existing budget?

Yes, you can do that as well! In the Budget sidebar, click on Assign to another project:

And in the pop-up window, click on the "X" icon, and Save changes:
