Employee Fields

Use Employee fields and easily organize your employee and contractor details.

Updated over a week ago

The Employee fields feature in Productive allows you to manage your workforce data more effectively.

This feature lets you create and manage fields specifically designed for Employees and Contractors, offering greater flexibility and precision in how you handle and organize your team’s information.

The number of Employee fields you use does not count towards the total number of custom fields included in your subscription plan!

If you need more than the initial 30 custom fields available, please contact us directly to discuss your options ☎️

Setting Up Employee Fields

1) Navigate to Settings

  • Go to Settings > Employee fields in Productive to create and manage your custom Employee fields.

2) Create Employee Fields

  • Click on Manage employee fields and choose the field type (e.g., text, number, date, etc.).

  • Customize the field, give it a descriptive name and explanation, and select "Create field" to save it.

Note: You can also mark this field as sensitive to restrict who can view the custom field information.

3) Apply Fields

  • Apply the fields to your employees and contractors by accessing their profiles through Resourcing > Employees or Settings > Users.

4) Utilize the Fields

  • Use these fields in your Employee views and across various reports (e.g., People data source) for better organization and management.

Resourcing and Employee Management

The Employees screen can be found under Resourcing > Employees, where you can manage all your company’s employees and contractors.

  • This section allows you to invite new team members, view their profiles, and organize them using the custom Employee fields you’ve set up.

  • From this screen, you can also use Employee fields to customize views, set filters, and manage your team’s data more efficiently.

Important Notes for Existing Users

If you have previously created and applied People custom fields (in Settings > Custom fields > People), these fields have now been transferred to your Employee fields.

The previously named "People" custom fields have been split into Employee fields and Contacts custom fields to enhance user and contact management.

Rest assured, your data remains safe and intact!

Employee Fields and Permissions

Employee fields also introduce new options for customizing user permissions, allowing you to control who can view specific information with greater detail.

For more details on setting up custom permissions, refer to this article.
