In Productive, you can utilize various document templates for deal proposals tailored for different occasions or clients. This flexibility allows you to maintain consistency in your client communications.
Hereβs how to change a proposal template to suit your needs better.
1) Access the deal
Navigate to CRM > Deals and select the deal for which you are sending the proposal.
2) Select default document template and tax rate
Open the deal sidebar and click Edit general deal info.
Here, you can set the default proposal template and tax rate that will apply to all proposals created for this deal.
β
Choose one of the proposal templates you created under Settings > Document Templates > Proposal, and select the default tax rate you want to apply to proposals.
π The tax rate is optional. If you leave it empty, no tax will be applied to the services in the proposal.
These defaults will automatically populate each new proposal for the deal, but they can still be changed individually when creating or editing proposals.
β
3) Select a new template while creating a proposal
In addition to having default settings for the proposal layout and tax rate, you can change both when creating a new proposal.
Open the Proposals tab and click + Proposal.
Your default choices will be prefilled, but you can switch the Document Template, Tax Rate, and Custom Note fields if needed for this specific proposal.
β
4) Edit an existing proposal
As long as a proposal is still in Draft (not Sent, Rejected, or Accepted), you can update the template, change or remove the tax rate, and sync any changes made to services back into the proposal document.
To do this, open the proposal, click the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner, and select Edit.
β
Choose the template, tax rate, and/or custom note, then click Save.
