Understanding Time Entry Rounding

If you prefer tracking your work time using the timer (stopwatch) in Productive, it's important to understand how time entries are rounded when you stop the timer.

  • Rounding Up
If you stop the timer 30 seconds or more into a minute, Productive will round the time entry up to the next full minute.

  • Rounding Down
If you stop the timer with less than 30 seconds into a minute, the time entry will be rounded down to the previous full minute.

Examples

  • Rounding Up
If you stop the timer at 43 minutes and 31 seconds, Productive will record the time as 44 minutes.

  • Rounding Down
If you stop the timer at 43 minutes and 29 seconds, Productive will record the time as 43 minutes.

This rounding mechanism ensures that your time entries remain consistent and easy to manage, regardless of when you stop the timer.
