Sharing an Artifact

Share an artifact with people or teams in your organization, or export it for use outside Productive.

You can share an artifact with other people or teams in your organization.

Select Share from a card's menu on the Artifacts page, or the Share icon in the title bar when the artifact is open. Search for the people or teams you want to add, then choose their access level.

Changes show up for everyone right away. If someone changes an artifact while you have it open, you see the latest version without refreshing. If your access is removed, the artifact closes and disappears from your Artifacts page.

Access Levels

When you share an artifact, choose one of two access levels for each person or team:

  • Can view: the person can open and read the artifact, but can't edit, rename, delete, or share it.

  • Full access: the person can do everything the creator can: edit the artifact with the AI Assistant, restore an earlier version (Beta), rename it, delete it, and share it with others.

Shared artifacts show up on the recipient's Artifacts page under the Shared filter, alongside their own.

📌 The creator always keeps Full access. Nobody can change or remove their access. If an artifact was shared with you, you can lower your own access to Can view or remove yourself from it.

Sharing With People Outside Productive

To show an artifact to someone who doesn't use Productive, share it to the web. Anyone with the link can open it without a Productive account.

Open the Share menu and enable Share to web to generate a shareable link, then click Copy link.

When the artifact is publicly shared, its title bar turns green and shows a Public label.

The link shows the artifact's name and content. Interactive artifacts work the same way they do in Productive, and any links inside open in a new tab.

Disable Share to web to deactivate the link.

📌 You need Full access to an artifact to share it to the web.

📌 If you need a file instead, download the artifact as a PDF or HTML file. For more information on downloading, see Artifacts Library.
