Report Templates (Beta)

Save a report you've already built and reuse it for new projects, without setting it up from scratch. Learn how to create, use, edit, and delete report templates in the Template Center.

With report templates, you can save a report you've already built and reuse it whenever you need the same report again instead of setting it up from scratch each time.

Report templates are available on the Professional and Ultimate subscription plans.

Saving a Report as a Template

You can turn any report you've created and saved into a template, whether it was built in the Reports module or in a project's Reports tab:

  1. Open the report you want to reuse.

  2. Click the three dots in the top-right corner and select Save as a template.

  3. In the popup, give the template a name and a description.

  4. Click Save template to save it to the Template Center.

📌 When you save a template, its configuration is preserved: filters, grouping, fields, sort, and targets. Pulse and sharing options are not saved.

Using a Report Template

There are two ways to start a report from a template.

In Reports, or a project's Reports tab: next to + Report, click the dropdown arrow and select From Template Center.

In the Template Center: click your avatar in the upper right, go to Customize > Template Center, then open the Reports category.

Select a template you wish to use.

📌 The Template Center is organized to help you view and quickly access various template types.

When you select a template, you can:

  • Use template — create a new report from the template.

  • Edit template — open the template in edit mode to change its configuration.

  • Delete — move the template to the Recycle Bin.

When you Use template, you'll set:

  • Name — the name for the new report.

  • Project — choose which project to create the report in. [This will make report visible in the projects Reports tab]

Data Visibility

When someone creates a report from a template, the data they see always respects their own permissions:

  • If a template uses a field, custom field, or grouping the person can't access, those fields don't appear and no data loads for them.

  • If a template includes a formula that draws on data the person can't see (for example, cost or recognized revenue), the formula stays but returns no data for the restricted part.

  • If a template is applied to a project the person can't access, no data loads for that project.

This is the same behaviour as opening any report where you don't have access to certain fields — nothing you can't normally see is exposed through a template.
