Organization-Wide Integration for Microsoft Teams

Enable the organization-wide integration for Teams to send Pulse reports and automation messages to Teams channels.

The organization-wide integration for Teams allows Pulse reports and automation messages to be sent to any public channel in your Microsoft Teams organization.

Unlike the personal integration, this integration requires organization-level permissions in Microsoft Teams, since it needs to list all teams and channels in your Teams organization and send messages to them directly.

Who Can Set Up This Integration

Only a person with admin rights for your Microsoft Teams tenant can install the organization-wide integration.

  • The installation flow runs one way, from Productive to Microsoft Teams.

  • If the person installing isn't a Teams admin, Microsoft blocks the installation and shows an error. The setup stops at this point.

  • If the person is a Teams admin, the installation continues normally.

Connecting the Org-Wide Integration

  1. Go to App Marketplace in Productive.

  2. Search for Teams and select Organization-Wide Microsoft Teams.

  3. Click Connect and sign in with an admin Microsoft account.

  4. Approve the requested permissions to complete the installation.

Adding the App to Teams

The Productive app must be added to each individual team you want to send Pulses or automations to.

In Teams, open the team, click the three dots, and go to Manage team > Apps. Productive - Teams (org-wide) must appear in the list.

📌 Admins can also add the app to multiple teams at once through the Teams admin portal.

Sending Pulses and Automation Messages to Teams Channels

Once the integration is connected, a Teams option appears wherever you can set up Pulses or Automations.

📌 Only public channels are available for selection.

To send a Pulse to Teams:

  • Select Teams as the delivery method.

  • Choose a team from your Teams organization.

  • Choose a channel within that team.

To send an automated message to Teams:

  • Select Teams as the action (Then step).

  • Choose a team from your Teams organization.

  • Choose a channel within that team.

  • Add a custom message, along with any available dynamic fields (attributes) like a link to the referenced item or a person, then save the rule.

📌 Click Run now to test your rule and see the automation in action in the selected Teams channel.
