Managing Attachments In Absence Requests

Add files like a doctor's note to an absence request, see who can open them, and change them while the request is pending.

You can attach files to an absence request, such as a doctor’s note or a travel confirmation. Approvers and admins then have everything they need to review the request in one place.

👉 New to absence requests? See Requesting Time Off or Remote Work.

Add Attachments

In the absence request window, click the paperclip icon 📎 in the lower-right corner of the Note field and choose your files. You can add up to 5.

In the list of requests, a request with attachments shows the file name, or how many files it has.

Attachments in Email Notifications

Attachments are included in the email notifications sent when a request is submitted, approved, rejected, or cancelled, for the person who made the request and for anyone who can see notes and attachments on absence bookings (see below).

Who Can See Attachments

  • The person who made the request

  • Their approvers

  • Anyone with the View notes and attachments on absence bookings for other users permission. It’s on by default in the Admin, Profitability manager, Manager, and Coordinator permission sets, including their restricted-access versions.

Change Attachments

While a request is Pending, you can add or remove its attachments. Open the three-dot menu next to the request and select Edit.

Change the attachments and save.

If absence approvals aren’t turned on for your organization, requests are approved as soon as they’re sent, so you can’t change their attachments afterward.
