What Are Absence Approval Policies?

Absence approval policies define how absence requests are handled. They determine:

  • Who approves a request for a specific absence category.

  • Who is notified once the request is approved.

Policies help you manage requests consistently and apply the same rules to multiple employees at once.

A key feature is the option to automatically assign an employee’s manager as the approver—no need for manual assignments. You can also set custom approvers for individual employees without creating a policy.

Setting up absence approval policies is available on the Ultimate subscription plan.
