You've probably noticed our tips and tricks on the loading screen, but since Productive is pretty fast 😎 the tips go away quickly. Here's the complete list:
- Wanna hear a secret? Make tasks private. They will be visible only to people in the task.
- Use the power of filters (located on the left). Tailor every dataset to your own needs and then save the filter for future use.
- Mention someone using @ if you need that person's complete attention.
- Turn on the 'watch project' feature and you'll be notified about everything that's going on.
- Stay in the game all the time, comment on tasks by replying directly from your email inbox.
- Drag'n'drop task lists around if reordering stuff makes you happy.
- Easily share files in a project, drag'n'drop everything into a task.
- Personalize widgets on your dashboard and never miss what's most important to you."
- Click on a “+” button next to a task list name and quickly add new task to that specific task list.
- Click on the menu icon next to a comment and select Edit before the Grammar Police notices you have misplaced apostrophe’s
- Pin important comments and they will stay on top of the discussion in the task.
- Switch to Calendar view in tasks to have a better overview of all the tasks with defined deadline.
- Still using Productive only on computer? Check out mobile apps and be productive on the go.
- Deal with multiple tasks at once. Select them, close them, move them, reassign them, tag them, set up a deadline for them.
- Can you track time on a task? Yes you can!
- There is a button that mentions files attached in the task so that people reading your comment know exactly what you're referring to.
- Need a place to write down all the general info that everyone working on the project has to be familiar with? Create a note.
- Pop open the champagne! When you send an invoice to your client, you can mark it as sent.
- If there's a red circle next to a project, brace yourself: the budget is fried.
- The bigger the green line on a project, the more profit you're making. Go green!
- Share time sheets directly with your clients online. Forget about exporting and emailing report every month.
- Approve time entries before they're visible to clients. You might wanna make that 30 min brainstorming coffee non-billable.
- Invite clients to collaborate on projects. Don't have them miss the party!
- Add tags to Deals, and filter like a pro!
- Alert yourself! Create budget time warnings on a service when the hours come too close to the estimate.
- Hope you'll always get a zero value for the Total overdue value in Invoices!
- Need someone to colaborate with, add a new user.
- Need to send a christmas card, add a new contact.
- It was fun while it lasted. You have to archive a project eventually.
- BCC Productive when e-mailing clients, to keep the whole team in the loop.
- Emails tab on a contact shows you every email that was filed in Productive this person sent or received.
- Create TO-DOs for your deals. Never miss that follow call up again.
- If you're not sure what those tabs in Contacts refer to, remember this: Notes == someone has put down comments about this person vs. Work log == log of what this person was doing
- Stop creating projects from the scratch. Try out Duplicate project feature. It will save you a lot of time and energy.
- Do you have some duplicate people on your contact lists? Merge them into one.
- Put down all the holidays in the Settings and you'll have those non-working days marked in all the calendars throughout Productive.
- Set up public projects and never worry about adding people to it. If a project is public, they can invite themselves.
- Instead of inviting one by one person to Productive, invite as many people as you wish at the same time.
- Create a price list for each client. It will speed up a process of creating deals and budgets.
